A contact lens is a medical instrument that corrects eye vision; it serves as a substitute to eyeglasses. Their design depends on the different magnification requirements of various eyes, while their appearance simply depends on personal preferences. Some people even personalize their contact lenses that would accentuate their personalities and/or hobbies. (Did you know that there are contact lenses that look like a soccer ball?) But, be it for style or for medical purposes, people should be aware that contact lenses, when not used properly, could cause damage our eyes.
There are two types of contact lenses: Conventional and Disposable. Conventional contacts are designed for long-term use. Its life-span should be between one to six months. Disposable contacts, as its name imply, are contacts manufactured to last for only two weeks of use, at the most. Subcategories include hard lenses, soft lenses, extended-wear lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, and refractive lenses. Among these six subtypes, only the extended-wear and refractive lenses are the only ones that can be safely worn overnight. Because they are specially designed to cure extensive eye problems, one should receive the recommendation of an ophthalmologist or optometrist recommendation before he or she considers buying a pair of either one of them.

Bedding for Asthmatics | Uratex Blog
Asthma can be triggered by a number of factors. The most common of which are dust mites and fungal cells which are mostly found in the bedroom. Thus, choosing the right bedding for asthma patients is important.
Dust mites thrive on beddings because it is where we shed our skin. And because dust mites feed on dead skin, they tend to linger on our mattress as they wait for their next meal. Microporous covers should be used for mattresses and pillows; they will put a halt to these dropping while still allowing good flow of air and moisture. In using bunk beds, make sure that children with asthma are not placed at the bottom bunk. Any movement from the top bunk will disturb the dust mites and consequently make them airborne. Asthmatic children at the bottom will be the recipient of these dust mites.

Have you ever realized that we use the mattresses the longest in our daily lives? Then again, most of us do not realize that we should also change our mattresses. They may not have expiration dates written when we first bought them, but certainly, they don’t last for eternity.

How to Prevent Your Child from Wetting the Bed | Uratex Blog
Thousands and thousands of bed mattresses has been victimized by young kids with an undisciplined bladder. Experts say that such accidents are only acceptable until the age of 6. Beyond that number, your kid should be old enough to get up on his own whenever he or she needs to use the toilet. But what should be done when your child can’t seem to overcome this nasty and smelly habit?
Bed wetting (also known as nocturnal/nighttime enuresis) occurs because of psychological and nutritional factors. Some doctors explain that another possible cause could be an underdeveloped bladder system, which would give any kid great trouble when it comes to controlling his urinations.
